Service & Product Designer / (AI) Experience Architect
đ The DEUS Initiative
We're a team of curious minds who believe technology should serve people. Our mission is to unlock the potential of AI for humanity through solutions that are not just innovative, but also ethical and impactful. We're driven by a desire to simply make things better.
Our name is inspired by deus ex machina, not because we think weâre gods, but because we design AI that steps in to support, solve, and serve.
DEUS also stands for what we do best:
Data | Engineering | User Experience | Strategy
With offices in Amsterdam, Porto, and A CoruĂąa, we collaborate on international projects that challenge us to think deeply, build with care, and design for human good.
Will you be part of what comes next?
âď¸ About You
We want to meet you. If you are reading this you are clearly excited by the power of AI, design & humanity combined to create a positive impact on our futures.
At DEUS - human(ity) centered AI, we pride ourselves on building machines of assistance: AI systems that extend and amplify human capability and ingenuity.
As an Experience Architect at DEUS, youâll be involved in strategy and concept development, researching user and business needs, and designing elegant, easy-to-use sentient solutions to meet those needs. Together with the rest of the team, youâll play a key part in seeing a project through: from the very first brief to launch and beyond. Within the team your role will focus on the desirability and usability aspects of the intelligent product or service â working with clients and end-users to define scope, and diving deep into research. In addition to the desirability lens, you will also collaborate on making any service viable and feasible, so weâre looking for someone who enjoys tackling complex problems and designing efficient solutions. You are curious and have worked with Figma Make, Claude code, Gemini AI studio, Cursor etc and can bring your ideas to life. Collaboration is key to this role, as that is the basis of the entire company.
This role is a great fit if you have:
Communication is key: documenting and presenting design and strategy decisions
Visual and aesthetic acuity is important (beauty can be an extremely powerful tool in creating effective products & services, even if the interface may be invisible)
Deep familiarity with Figma, and perhaps also adobe suite, apple creator suite etc. plus AI tools from Google, anthropic openAI etc
Strong knowledge of emerging technology trends and opinions is a big plus
Excellent written and verbal English and Dutch are core requirements. Most of our company communication is in English, however some key partners/clients are more comfortable in Dutch, so we need both
Bonus points if you have:
Bonus if you have video/audio skills, UX copywriting, 3D graphics, physical prototyping, environmental/experiential design etc
âď¸ What Youâll Be Doing
Some of the tasks you might be doing in these role (with a different focus depending on which âflavourâ of product/service designer you are):
Research planning and execution (including qualitative user research and market research)
Insight analysis to help define strategy and scope (creating customer experience journeys, mapping pain points & opportunities identification; developing personas; creating Future Service Blueprints etc.)
Plan and facilitate design workshops in different timeframes and formats (Design Sprints; Design-thinking workshops; Ideation sessions; value proposition sessions etc.)
Designing user flows and interactions for complex digital products
Lo-fi and hi-fi prototyping of products & services
Designing beautiful visual interaction or communication elements for the products & services
User testing, validation processes and client recommendations
Training and guiding clients on AI prototyping, Service Design, Design Sprints/Design Thinking, Customer Centricity, Designing for AI etc
.âŚand thereâs always space to explore what excites you.)
